Principal's Message

Pakistan International School Cairo has always been known as a small, happy and quality school. PISC main aim is the development of the wholesome balanced personality of the child that experiences and enjoys all aspects of education as per his/her given strengths and available opportunities. It gives me a lot of satisfaction to highlight some of the main achievements of the academic year 2016-2017:

 ♦We have now 279 students from 40 nationalities all across the globe

♦In IGCSE & A levels Cambridge exams, PISC achieved 25 A* and A grades, the total pass percentage has been 90 percent with more than 60 percent of the students obtained C and above grades,

♦3 students of PISC achieved Cambridge Learner Awards in languages.

♦The students sitting for Pakistan based Federal board SSC exams got 100 percent result with A grades.

♦We believe in continuous assessment practices, throughout the year students are engaged in rigorous learning activities both inside and outside the classrooms.

♦Students participated in Fast Forward and BizCom business events organized by Nile University and the Canadian International College and impressed the panel with their creative business ideas and implementation process.

♦Students participated in the Cambridge Science Forum and learnt about the new developments in the field of science and expected requirements for the University admissions.

♦Science projects and experiments are integral part of the science curriculum. Students portrayed their creative science ideas into science projects during annual science exhibition. For the junior students “Engineering for kids” science activities were started.

♦Students were taken on various trips to experience knowledge of various aspects of the society and community they live in. The trips went to Qatamiyah Scientific Observatory, Opera house, Pharonic village, Museum, Saqqara pyramids, Azhar park, Ismaila village, Salahuddin Citadel, circus and to Red Sea, Hurghada. 

♦Social sciences projects are part of the continuous assessment, students prepared models and gave practical solutions on various social issues.

♦Global Vision and Malaysian Universities visited the school and provided valuable information to senior students for higher education admissions.

♦Other than regular sports activities in school, students participated in MSA Sports gala and also played matches with other schools.

♦A lot of emphasis was given to the up-gradation of the PISC library, many new books have been added and a new scholastic library software has been successfully used on a trial basis.

♦Security measures have been boasted and new vehicles have been purchased.

♦IT infrastructure has been completely revamped and a new team of IT developers are working on the online school management system,

♦There has been significant presence of the school events and programs on Facebook, updated website and more use of the Google classroom,

♦PISC e-newsletter has been launched with latest news and mode of communication with the parents,

♦Holding of International day, Sports day and Performance day at top-notch facilities were highly appreciated by the parents,

Keeping abreast with the latest research and trends in modern education, the faculty of PISC has been attached with continuous professional development.

  • ♦A number of teachers joined Education Leadership Diploma from American University in Cairo, participated in “Teaching for Success” training and “Core skills” workshops organized by British Council Egypt. The teachers then interacted with their fellow colleagues to share their gained knowledge and practice so that the whole faculty benefitted from the latest research.
  • ♦Students were given extra lessons free of charge after school hours and on Saturdays.

 

PISC does not focus solely on academics; every child’s educational requirements are unique and we feel proud of their achievements in all aspects of education. Children at PISC are taught to live happily and enrich their experiences and develop their characters to the best of their potential.
